Contacted Viamar for our move from Ontario to Scotland.
Was quoted for 200 cubic feet of household goods (on a 7’x4’x7’ pallet)
I marked the area in the garage and packed exactly in those measurements, because I didn’t want to have to pay more for going over our allotted amount.
I was told the crate would leave mid July, and they would pick up the beginning of July.
Pick up scheduled for July 4th.
The movers were quick and professional and had everything loaded quickly.
After that zero communication from viamar until August 10th saying that the ship had departed August 2 (so not mid July), with an extra charge for extra cubic footage. (which you can’t argue with when you weren’t the one packing it, and didn’t receive any photos showing the overage… fine)
It got held up in Rotterdam in customs, and then again in England. (not their fault at all ~ I understand that they have no control over customs and inspections)
Communication was horrible during the entire thing. We ended up reaching out to them for updates because they were not keeping us up to date while things were being delayed for weeks in customs.
Finally get a delivery date ~ October 2. (this was 3 months after the boxes left our house.)
Truck arrives and the boxes are tossed all over the back of the truck. They had used one rope to tie down the boxes, and the rope broke, so everything was all over the place.
Every single box was damaged, ripped or crushed. My husband’s toolbox was broken, as well as 7 picture frames, 2 sculptures, and 2 kitchen storage containers, a clock, and some plastic storage containers. (and one of the boxes had been eaten through by a mouse or rat, and they ate through my husband’s pants that were in the box…)
I thought, its ok ~ Afterall we paid for the $20,000 insurance coverage….
Nope ~ that only covers total loss of all of your belongings.
They also lost 1 of our boxes (presumably the one that “didn’t fit” on our pallet) ~ reached out multiple times via email ~ and I was told that they would look for the box at their Toronto warehouse. (Last communication from them was October 9, 2024, Review posted October 22, 2024.)
I think more than half of these reviews are either fake or their work ethic and honestly has gone down. Contacted them for help with my shipment and they were very helpful and attentive up until they were paid . Once paid they were always out the office on vacation or didn’t have any information or couldn’t help. Honestly save your time and money and look other places for help. I wouldn’t recommend them at all.

A company that lacks empathy , rude in their manner of approach when dealing with clients. They even went ahead to insult even when I tried to approach, taking advantage of the fact that goods are with them, delayed and no proper communication, taking advantage of people and transferring fault over to clients rather than accepting responsibility.
I booked parcel to Sydney Australia with Translink logistics on 18th Sep'2024. Although it reached to Vic, australia on 19th Sep but yet to be delivered to Sydney and has been now more than 15 days.
Response from Translink guys is very irresponsive and calling them everyday has now been a routine task with nothing to avail other than boiling the BP with pathetic response from the Translink guys.
Convelio, acting as the shipper for its client, the auction house Artcurial (who strongly recommended Convelio), damaged a Chinese antiquity I purchased during shipment from Paris to New York. Both Convelio and Artcurial refused to arrange a third-party appraisal of the damage and did not provide references for the suggested restorer, falling short of best practices and the professionalism expected when damage occurs. The proper course of action should have been: artwork damaged in shipment, followed by full reimbursement after assessing repair costs and any loss in value, if together they exceed the purchase price. **BE WARNED** If your artwork is damaged, neither Convelio nor Artcurial will reasonably resolve the issue to the client's satisfaction.
1) We were promised an English speaking driver/guide but he could not speak a single sentence. Always he was using google translate while driving which was very dangerous. We stopped communicating with him at one pint of time.
2) His driving was Reckless – always he was talking to some one or typing & the car was drifting. Once he pressed the brake so hard my one of kid fell from the seat
3) Our trip was completely altered & we were not taken t the places which were promised
4) Our trip had Borzumi on 11 & 12 at Caucasus mountain but it was shifted for unknown reason
5) We were promised to be taken to many places like Georgian -Russian Friendship point & Jeep tour. When we asked the drive he gave lame excuse first by saying – it is in Russia & we need visa. Then he said he is not allowed to visit there. He was denied before as well. When asked you or the local contact (Mariam) next day we were told completely different story that due to bad weather we were not taken to that place, which is a blatant lie. Why the trip was chosen on a cloudy day then? As the 12th weather was absolutely fine. We were even offered another Trinity church on 13th (Day of journey) in TBilissi which we denied as this was not the part of our package & it is risky t go places on your travel day as well.
6) Earlier quote mentioned quote is inclusive of Entrance fee – but every where we had to pay entrance fee as extra? Why so?
7) We did not have minimum information from the driver – when I asked what is the entrance fee – his answer was (With an expression) “I don’t know – you ask”. How much time it will take inside “I don’t know – you go & see”
8) On 12th when he took us to Borzumi he tried to sell the Jeep ride (which we understood as part of the package though) at 400 GEL which we denied. Moreover we checked by ourself at other place where they charged just half 200 GEL for the same trip. When we asked him – he said “I am sorry”
9) When something is not included in your package – please refrain from mentioning it in the quote – it creates unnecessary confusion
10) On 12th he was clearly not interested to take us to Rabat Castle & when we insisted – he took us there but parked the car at the exit & we had to walk long way to the entrance & we were not even allowed to exit from the gate where he parked – then we had to call him again t the entrance. All other cars were going to the entrance otherwise.
11) At Borzumi his plan was to engage us with local sightseeing where we could miss the Rabat Castle clearly
12) Also the Borzumi trip was planned very impractically – below is the example
It takes 2.5 Hrs. to reach Borzumi – So up & down to Borzumi is 5 hrs. – if we spend 2 hrs at Borzumi (without then 7 hours – Rabat Castle up & down 3 hrs – total 10 – hours – Spending 1 Hour) – Hence roughly with Lunch & local stop – the trip was for 12 hours which is highly impractical for 1 day to cover specially with kid it becomes real hectic. We missed our lunch on that day due to time.
13) We were never given minimum information - eg: I asked you visa charges – they mentioned 20 t 30 US$ but Visa is free & on arrival for us.
14) Every morning the driver was disturbing us & making repeated calls during breakfast to make things fast which created lots of tensions – he was not even able to manage the hotel people to park the car in some proper place. Even one day he took us for lunch at his friend’s restaurant where the price seemed to be quite high (Tbilissi) than other one we were eating by our own)
15) On 12th while coming back – my little one was sleeping – he wanted us to get down from the car to get his fuel & without my kid – when we denied – then we had to wake him up because of his stubbornness & get down of the car.
Definitely not going to recommend Dadabhai Travel to near & dear ones
