My name is Chris Render, I am a neighbor of a new hired driver for you all, Jared Molden out of the Texarkana division.... needless to say you all have hired a rather dangerous and immature individual. He drives under the influence of alcohol regularly, have had multiple instances with him driving down our road impaired.. another group of neighbors told me he started working with you all.... as a CDL Driver myself this man needs to be reprimanded. An extreme danger to the roads, this gentleman has been reported to DPS already as well.

Make sure to join the class action lawsuit! They reported record growth and gains for shareholders because they pay drivers trash so don't help them take advantage of you because you're too scared of change. (NFI pays good) Now that I'm in Ohio then they tell me I'll be responsible for paying the rental car or any means of getting me back home so they will leave you stranded beware.. They threatened me with truck abandonment because I said I'll leave the truck where I picked it up at which was the Birmingham yard. They know my personal vehicle is there so now they are trying to send me even further away from my car which is down right wrong. I noticed my pay today didn't add up because I agreed to 45 cpm but supposedly since my lane is not ready then my rate is only 40 cpm which is horrible. My dispatcher Brit was supposed to let me know but failed to do so. 45 is bad enough but I was willing to deal with it because of the route. Btw my dispatcher would send a message minutes before going home so if you had a question unfortunately she was already gone so obviously this place does not care. Anyhow I would suggest going with a company that pays at least 50 cpm. NFI was good with 55 cpm(Target account paid $300 per day) but they messed up my check too many times (17 times but always corrected it) and even by them messing up I'll still make more than this place.

Pam Tranport is a great company to work for. They treat there drivers as family. There are a lot of opportunities with pam. It up to you.
I started with pam in June 2021 after 3 months I became a mentor.
After 7 months I became an owner operator and mentor with Pam
They gave me all the opportunities they have, and you can reach out with
The staff at pam and they will help you right away I work for other big companies before but none of they is like Pam Transport I will continue to work for Pam Transport until I retire.

If you want below average compensation and no chance of getting back the money they withhold from your checks, and if you have no other options why not!?

  • on 08.12.2021

Ran a solid year with them. A good company to get started with if you can survive the lower end cent-per-mile; good dedicated lanes too. If you're looking to really advance your pay, they have lease operator slots. Tractor speed rated at 64.6 mph. All tractors built by Peter.

I give one star because that's tha lower this allows. Worst experience ever with Austin Bayles. I should had cancel the load at the beginning when he sent me as pick up location an address in OH when I was located in TX. That was a sign that he had not idea of what he is doing. Never picks up the phone and others have to resolve instead. After delivering the load he send me 54 mes away to drop of the trailer and was totally disrespectful and unhelpful when I asked for a closer location. Never booking again with PAM thanks to this employee.

This is a decent-ish place to start if you’re new to the trucking industry. Let them pay for your cdl, get your 1 year but after that, leave. Go find a higher paying company. The pay is low, I want to say it was .25 or .26 cpm when I started in 2019. I worked a regional dedicated lane for 4 months, but was not advised of the fact there was no pay guarantee. This lane relied on freight to get carried across the border before I could deliver it to the customer in Arlington, I made 300 bucks most weeks. Finally got into a spot moving over the road cross country and the pay was better cause I got miles, but still never made much. Highest bring home was 800-900 a week. Definitely not close to any competitor. While running regional I would talk with the local drivers out of the terminals, they got paid hourly with everything over 40hrs being overtime and they always worked a 5 on 2 off schedule, max 70 hrs per 5 days on, home every day and off every “weekend.” Most I talked to made 1400 plus a week. Drivers that get to go home every day made more than otr drivers where you get earn 1 day off per 7 days you work. Only reason I left was low pay, I didn’t get screwed as hard as others did. To sum it up, make the most of it. Use it as a learning experience, learn how to live as a trucker, get your one year and move on to a better company with better pay, benefits. You gotta start somewhere

This "driver" tried to run into another driver while backing into a spot only get in the spot, crank it up to 15 and cycle the fan. Is this the kind of people you call "drivers?" Not only that, he goes inside and leaves it roaring away while people are trying to sleep.....

If you can find any other trucking company to go to beside Pam Transportation go there .. Pam Transportation is highly unprofessional, they don't answer the phone, they don't call back , and they have zero respect for people as a person..I highly recommend some where else the job it's is not a hard job at all but the people inside the company is trash ..

  • on 16.03.2021

This company is definitely for new drivers because experienced drivers would never go for the things this company puts you through. They lie about everything from job duties, pay, routes, miles, training etc. The recruiters tell you whatever to get you in. Do yourself a favor either get it in writing or find another company! Plus the pay is between $0.25-0.38 per mile. Doo-Doo pay plus they cancel loads on you which effects your pay! Unorganized company. They couldn’t even find my truck they assigned me it took them 5 hours to locate it.

Our first load did not go quite as well as hoped, but I feel like they made up for it. We took a load knowing the driver could not make the pick up appointment and would be a work in. They called over and were told he would be loaded asap. I let them know if they give any issue about it being 2-3 hours for a door we would have to leave. I cannot risk the next lane as it's a direct customer. Our driver arrived, and two trucks were being reworked in the docks. Our driver was told 2-3 hours, so we had to go. That shipper called our driver 3 hours later for a door, but he had already checked back out. NOT ideal, but we knew it was a risk. They still issued a TONU, and without a doubt I would love to do business with them again to get off to a better start.

Absolutely horrible company. I left before they starting making "postive" changes to stop the equally horrible retention rates. But this is my take.

    65 MPH typical megacarrier.

    Fleet spec uninteresting trucks.

    Industry average hometime.

Industry average o/o rates (barely sustainable)

    Industry average predatory lease program

Bulk of freight is randomly brokered trash, expect to pick up a resturant oven from some auction house in Los Angeles, than deliver it to a postage stamp kitchen you couldn't back a pickup truck into. If you arent doing that you are pulling auto parts from what's basically Mexico, to the "please shoot me" ghettos of Detroit and Chicago.

Idle policy, w/ EPUs but get ready to sweat.

Dispatch will change your appointment times so you sit at shippers (not be late) instead of sitting at truckstops.

They raised their pay, but the difference between 1 Penny A Mile and 2 Pam's is not much. Detention was like 25 bucks per driver or something? Breakdown pay barely covers a motel 6, rest is out of pocket.

When I got my CDL years ago the staff at this facility who tested you were bad teachers. Most testers at most yards sucked.

My mentor had 11 months experience and knewittle about driving outside of backing a trailer and sending arrival/Depart calls. Most mentors are ineffective.

The CDL school I went to (make no mistake it's just a shell company for PAM) also focused on quantity over quality. Hardly different then any other mega carrier who puts diapers on their new born drivers.

The only way I learned anything was through my codriver who had 25 years of experience.

ALL IN ALL this isnt that great of a company, most of the 1 star reviews resonate problems typical of any 300+ truck carrier. The 4 and 5 star reviews have never been to a real carrier that pays you a real pay check. Most of the people who like this company dont know what its like to be paid to go home. There are far, far better places than this. I literally used this to get a CDL and that was it, knowing about trucking now, I should have gone to college to get a class A instead, than be recruited into someone else. Do that. Dont goto pam who pays you in peanuts.
