    I shipped a package with LHR global to myself in Thailand. The goods were valued at £100 (which is over what they are worth) and the freight was £197.68. They filed the wrong paper work so customs in Thailand received paper work stating that it was a commercial shipment and that the combined cost of freight and goods was over £1000 which gave me an import tax bill of over £400 instead of the £75 that it should have been.

    At first the staff member who was dealing with the matter was on leave at the time tried so I ended up speaking to the CEO. He was helpful at first but when shipping documents and invoices with their faulty figures were presented and they were expected to take liability for THEIR INCOMPETENCE he quickly stopped following up the case and said "I'm not going to pay, I can't afford that much money!".

    Finally a young lady who worked there tried her best to help resolve the issue by actually contacting DHL and trying to dispute the case but unfortunately DHL arent helping and Thai customs are refusing to change the valuation (understandably as it's a lot of money in Thailand and its a matter of incompetence on DHL/ LHR's behalf).

    I have suggested that either 1) DHL return the package to the UK at their expense and LHR send it back at their expense with the correct paperwork, 2) DHL & LHR credit me for the balance of the incorrect import tax or 3 & finally) refund me and I will just have to pay the £400.

    Apparently all of these options are too outlandish for LHR & my only option is to pay the duty or my goods will be destroyed. I have already invested 6-8 hours of my time over the past week on phone calls.

    I could've gotten the goods shipped myself for the same price or cheaper via Fedex and done the paperwork digitally myself which would have removed human error and resulted in me getting my goods sooner, not having to deal with these cowboys and saved myself hundreds of pounds.

    I booked a collection using our account at LHR for a 09:30 collection. When they hadn’t arrived by half ten, I phoned to ask what time they would be turning up. They informed me that when I specified a 09:30 collection, what that actually meant to them was “09:30 until close of business”. When I pointed out that there wasn’t anything stating this on their website, and therefore it wasn’t a terribly good system when it specifies a 09:30 collection with no mention that it might be any time over the following eight hours, the person I spoke to said – verbatim – “Well complaints about our system aside, you obviously aren’t happy with our service, so I’ve cancelled your collection, goodbye”, and hung up the phone.

    Needless to say, I'm going elsewhere in future.
