I recently used Andrew Porter Ltd to help me move house and arrange storage of my belongings. I found the whole experience far less stressful than I was expecting due to the professional, reliable and friendly service provided by all the staff I dealt with at the company. From making my initial contact with them right through the whole process they went out of their way to ensure that my move and storage went as smoothly as possible. I felt that I could rely on them completely to do what they said they would. The staff were very approachable and nothing was too much trouble for them. I have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone moving house or needing to store goods.

I have used Andrew Porters before for storage when we were undergoing building works at our home, when it came to moving our belongings to place into storage before moving into a new home, this company was an obvious and only choice on my behalf. They are local to me and I want to support and see local businesses flourish, they are professional and on time which is essential when working in a logistics environment. The staff on reception are warm and friendly and will help you with any problems you encounter. The lads who collect and load and unload at the other end of our journey ( same lads) we’re so accommodating and also very friendly and trustworthy throughout. We were lucky enough to be able to book a 4 bedroom house contents removal into safe heated storage for a month (Andrew Porter store), and then out of storage into our new home a month later. All efficiently handled with great customer service. We had one issue at the end, when unfortunately a small bracket for re-assembling one of the beds seemed lost. However, Andrew Porter staff were able to locate it, back at their depot and it was hand delivered the next day. Very pleased with the service overall, and we would recommend to others. Friendly knowledgeable staff involved at every stage.

Seems like a mediocre no fuss self storage facility with deteriorating infrastructure. Could do with a clean up and total EHS audit.

I have no hesitation in recommending this company. Their professional approach to our house move was fantastic. They arrived on time, cleared the house in less than two hours by working so hard. Stored our furniture then delivered to our new address with equal efficiency. It is rare these days to get such good service thank you so much.

Recently moved house with Andrew Porter removals on 6th August. What a great bunch of lads, friendly, helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them. We had 27 years of accumulated stuff and they had the house emptied in just over 2 hours. They went the extra mile in helping me move some valuable koi. Very good service and would recommend them to anyone.

Lovely Staff! Clean premises! Highly recommended!

Due to uncertainty with my completion date, I was not able to book my removal until the last minute. I contacted several companies and obtained quotes. Andrew Porter were the most expensive, but were able to move me earlier than others. They packed everything for me the day before, and had me moved in by lunchtime the next day. Unfortunately I had to unpack everything myself, and so far there are no breakages or other damage. I just wish they had a collection service for the used boxes and packing paper. Well done .

Really friendly staff, great facilities at competitive prices

Really happy with our stress free moving day. They turned up early, no fuss parking the lorry on our small side street, the house was unloaded within an hour or so and left us with plenty of time to get on with cleaning and saying goodbye to our house, everything was in safe hands whilst we waited for the keys and then it was all unloaded and put exactly where we wanted in the new house in perfect condition. Definitely worth the cost just for the lack of stress and especially during a lockdown!

The packing up of our furniture was carefully done and I posted a 5* review. It was returned by different men who didn't take the care originally shown. Nearly £1000 damage. I watched one guy throw a box into a corner Most unhappy

Having to store some of our additional furniture before we move home. Spaces are exceptionally clean and tidy, really good access(7 days) and you also get use of a transit van to either put all your belongings in or to remove them out. Slightly more expensive per month after the initial discounted period but close to home for us and the use of a van is handy.

We used this firm for seven months when moving house and during this time we moved our belongings from a bigger unit to
a smaller one.We were storing some of our sons furniture and when he took his stuff we requested to change to a smaller one.The staff couldnt have been more helpful and offered assistance to move our belongings for us from one place to the other.
The security is exceptional which gave us peace of mind as all our worldly goods were being stored there.

Set aside the fact that they couldn't fit our move in at short notice, that's fair enough. However, they changed their minds about whether it would take 2 or 3 days to move us (two estimators, two opinions), announced that they wouldn't dismantle furniture (agreed as part of the original quote) and gave the impression that the job was just too much effort. A shame because their first estimator gave a really good impression of the company and explained how the move would work and why. The second estimator left us feeling that this was not a competent company, capable of the move as he constantly talked them down and indicated the things they wouldn't do. I also got the impression that the he thought the garden and garage were going to be difficult - other companies had no such reservations. He made it clear that they wouldn't take on a job that they couldn't carry out to their standards because they care about their reputation but I'm afraid that in our view their reputation was thoroughly trashed by the way they changed their mind about the job (length, complexity etc) and his attitude. Had the second estimator been the first representative we saw, we would have quickly dismissed them from our shortlist.

Great firm, really looked after us

Seven hours from calling Porter's to having a piano collected, transported and delivered! That included the time the removal crew were stuck on the M6 'Car Park' due to an accident and the resulting traffic deadlock. A very rapid and efficient service provided by extremely pleasant staff in the office and in the truck. While I hope not to need the piano moving again in the near future I would certainly go back to Porter's! Many thanks to all concerned.

Very professional company.

Just moved with Andrew Porter and the guys packing and moving have been amazing. They have worked quickly and thoroughly and been friendly too. Minor issues were not enough boxes requested by surveyor (we have lots of books) and the office arranged a 1pm packing start time on day 1 leaving not enough time to finish the pack. Aaron, Joe and Paul could not have made our move any easier or less stressful.

A brilliant firm who have made the whole process of self and container storage ( at a very stressful time whilst moving house!!) so easy.

Storage is safe , secure and very easy to access when you need it. A very, very positive experience from start to finish.

Central to this has been Steve at the Kendal centre. What a great guy, so helpful, cheerful and willing to give advice if needed. It has been a pleasure using this centre. Thanks Steve, great to meet someone with such a positive attitude to both his job and life in general.

What a superb firm to deal with, the Girls in the office were great very efficient and well organised, they went above and beyond as we were last minute moving, but they sorted us out.

What a team they sent , Michael and Aaron absolutely superb, it was a great pleasure to be moved by these guy's they kept our stress level to a minimum as they went about the task with great speed and efficiency.

We are due to move again in 6 months time and I am looking forward to seeing them again.

Moved into storage on Monday,Mark Dennis did the survey and i collected boxes and tape etc from the HQ off a very pleasant young lady whose name ive forgot,sorry,but Paul and Arron duly arrived at the stated time and what a well mannered ,polite and hard working pair they are,nothing was too much trouble for these two and it made what seemed a daunting task into a very pleasurable experience,Thanks Lads.
I will be looking forward to hopefully seeing the lads again when i finally find a property.Highly Reccommend the whole team at Andrew Porters for a smooth process from survey to removal day,Thanks to all concerned.

I have worked here for 15 years

This was the 2nd time I used this company. Free quote, free boxes, free tape, free packing paper, free cardboard wardrobes. Nothing is too much trouble. It all went wrong on the day (not Andrew Porters fault) the lads worked so hard to make sure it all happened, calm organised but tremendous effort . I have never seen so much moved in a short space of time and all whilst smiling and being careful. We have moved 11 times in total. The last 2 moves with Andrew Porters and we will use them next time too. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We used Andrew Porter removals in Dec 2018, to move to our new house.

What can I say apart from amazing ? Both myself and my wife agreed, it was the best value for money service we received in the 3 month moving process.

The lads arrived at 10am, had our house in the wagon for 1pm and our new house was then able to complete on time.

Our new house was unloaded for 5pm ish and the lads left us, what an amazing shift they all put in, worthy of a good tip and a few beers and takeaway.

Fantastic. From start to finish. They turned up, wrapped and packed everything. They loaded it into a van, took it to the new house and unloaded each box into the rooms of our choice.... All in one day. Packaging was included. Amazing service and a great price, took the stress out of moving. Certainly would use again.

Brilliant service that made the move so much easier. Everyone in the team was extremely polite and friendly, including all the guys that moved us on the day, and the office team, who were very patient with some of my very stupid questions. Everything was carefully, efficiently and expertly loaded, and we were unloaded and moved in by mid afternoon. The price is very reasonable for the amount of boxes, work and the quality of service. An excellent and efficient service throughout. Mick and Simon arrived early (but not too early|), and worked hard throughout; they even helped us re arrange furniture at the other end to fully utilise our limited space.
We had compared prices with other companies but felt confident in the service they offered so opted for them.
