    I would avoid this company. My car arrived late after missing two shipping dates despite being at the yard at the required time. At the last minute we had to organise our own transport to the yard as they cancelled at almost zero notice and offered a refund for the collection costs. In order to meet the shipping deadline, we had to frantically call around and paid an excessive amount at short notice to get the car there to meet the ship. Even then, despite promises we found out the day following the ship departure it did not get on. It did not get on the next sailing, but made the following over a month later. The car sat in the yard all that time, and it is an open top vehicle... We insured the car for transport from AutoShippers, to Sydney and our home address. When the car arrived, it was clear it had been neglected. All the rotors were rusted completely, all external components the same. The cockpit was full of water, and it was in a poor state generally. We had the car inspected. The engine had ingested water and was a write off. It was the opinion of the expert report written that the car had been stored outside, and then when placed in the container no safeguard against moisture had been put in the container. With the weather having been torrential rain in the UK for the storage period, the car would have sat in a steady water stream. This is a track vehicle, and having also not been run for a period due to the delays the water ingested had now led to rust in the cylinders. We tried to claim on insurance, what they offer is worthless. We took it all the way to the ombudsman, who agreed that the car had suffered significant damage, however as "rust" was not covered in the policy, and rust was what was present in the engine, and the fact it most likely occurred whilst stored at Autoshippers, the insurance had no need to pay out. Autoshippers blame the insurance, insurance blames Autoshippers. I am left in the middle with a GBP 20k bill for a new engine and labour, plus all the other parts that now need replacing. Go with a company that will guarantee covered storage, suitable insurance, and will love your vehicle. I should have been more thorough. Once they got my money, they were all excuses. Dont be fooled. For the record, this was not some dodgy kit car. It was a race prepared Caterham 7, which was taken directly from the race team with video and photographic evidence of condition, and transformed into what you see in the photos by AutoShippers. DO NOT USE THEM.

    My wife and I needed to ship some goods to Cape Town from London, and 1st Move came up trumps. They were extremely professional and courteous at all times, and made sure that everything was packed securely and safely, including some precious musical instruments! All the goods were delivered to our door without issue. The only small niggle was it took slightly longer than expected to get here even though we got everything packed on time.

    Moving from the UK to the USA was an extremely daunting task. It’s not the monetary value but the sentimental attachment to all of my children’s items and personal things that made me do my homework choosing the right company for this job. So I checked out many companies online before choosing 1st Move Int.

    As soon as I booked them everything was plain sailing (no pun intended)!) Two elements that really stand out as superlative was firstly the two chaps who came and collected all the items from my home in St Albans. Very professional, overly helpful and very good at settling my nerves. The second and possibly most important, was seeing all of my items on the drive of my home in Texas, just six weeks later - and the magnificent packaging! I could not believe how well it was all put together on three pallets. I am leaving this 5 star review because in an age where it’s so hard to get good customer service we need to applaud those who do it well and 1st Move International certainly did this for me. Thank you! I highly recommend this company!

    1st Move International provided quality service for a move from the UK to the US. Communication from the company was prompt and helpful throughout the process. Belongings were wrapped carefully and arrived intact and in excellent condition, including delicate glassware. The quality work is competitively priced as well. In the midst of life's challenges, they made an international move an easy process.

    Used 1st Move to move to the USA.

    Absolutely fantastic company to work with and whilst not the cheapest, it really is what you pay for (and a little more!).

    Very smooth process getting it onto the ship and through both sets of customs and apart from a little hiccup with their overseas logistics agent (which was the agent's fault ultimately) it arrived at my new home pretty smoothly.

    The hole picture attached to this review shows the "first cut" into the pallet on unpacking and shows just how far they really got with the shrinkfast packaging to keep your stuff safe.

    I hired 1st Move International to move some goods from my home in the UK to a second home in Uruguay. They came to my house, packed the smaller goods into boxes and bubble-wrapped the large items, loaded them onto a van and took them to their warehouse in Bristol where they consolidated them into a "bundle".
    However, when I received my goods, there was a Sage Barista coffee machine missing from the shipment. This is a semi-professional machine which cost £600. When I informed the company of this, they questioned my claim, basically implying that I was lying and refusing to even ask their staff about it. I was actually present during all of the time when the movers packed my goods into boxes and put them into the van, and I saw them taking the coffee machine in its original box and putting it into the van. They told me it would later be put into a box with other "kitchenware". Yet it never made it to its destination. Everything else arrived and in perfect condition. There were no boxes missing from the packing inventory written-up by the company and no boxes had been tampered with. So I can only conclude that the coffee machine was never packed into a box with other kitchenware and shipped with my move.
    1st Move International put me onto the insurance company to make a claim and just washed their hands from the matter. I find their behaviour towards a customer offensive and grossly unprofessional. For this reason I would not recommend their services to anyone.

    We sent our personal items to Cyprus (from the UK) and our experience with this company was the worst. We were told that the initial price would be 1300 GBP and that they would deliver door to door. After they have collected the items in the UK, an updated quote was sent to us in where the amount was double. They said the volume was not estimated properly and they re-calculated it. Of course we had no other option but to proceed. Then the delays with paper work were excessive leading to a month in terms of delays. This cost us even more given that now with Brexit we have to pay VAT on the cost of the shipment. If this useless company have done their job properly we would have been able to send our items in December as they promised. Furthermore, when the items arrived we were informed that we had to take our items from the port ourselves and that there was no arrangements to transport the items to our storage. Overall, we ended up paying almost 3 times more than our initial agreement.

    Just stay away from this company. They are thieves.

    This is the second time I have used 1st Move International to ship my belongings from UK to Canada. Each time has been a 'slick' and easy to understand process to enable my belongings to be organised, collected and delivered to the receiving warehouse in Canada. I would use again in the future.

    Do yourself a favor and pick a different company. I wish I had taken the bad reviews here to heart. We had three large pallets moved from the UK to the US and they included an upright piano. First of all, it took nearly 70 days for everything to be delivered. Second, we were only notified while awaiting the pallets that our items were due to be delivered to the curb and not into our home. They insisted we were given an option to have them delivered into our home, but we were not. Who would want a piano dropped curbside? Third, we were quoted for a protective crate to be built for the piano. The crate was never built and the piano was simply bubble wrapped and placed on a pallet, which it crashed through during the shipping. The piano was damaged and several boxes were completely crushed. Making it seem like they’re reputable business, they pretend that they’re going to do some thing about your complaints. But after weeks of back-and-forth, they always have an answer for why they will not be resolving the complaint in a way that would benefit their customer. We didn’t even bother trying to recoup the losses through their insurance because it would be a complete waste of time. Benefit from our pain and run away from these people and toward another company.

    1st Move International packed and shipped the contents of my house in the UK and delivered them to me in Massachusetts, USA. It was a very stressful time for me since I had to do the whole thing unexpectedly and remotely because of the Pandemic.They were wonderful throughout the process. They assisted me every step of the way. My belongings arrived beautifully packed and with no breakages - even the crystal glasses! I am very grateful to them.

    1st Move International was extremely good with helping us with our international move. They took so much of our stress away as they picked up the boxes and packed the crate themselves. They had developed a "COVID-SAFE" wrap so that our shipment wouldn't have to sit for two weeks upon arrival. They were very responsive to any questions we had, and communicated very well through the whole journey. When unpacking none of our stuff was broken, wet or crushed in anyway. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about shipping overseas.

    The staff were seemingly helpful enough. I've shipped cars and large items from the UK before and was used to paying an all inclusive fee. I was under the impression that it would be door to door. All of my conversations were to this effect. The costs crept up as the move went along. Then I recieved a call from their partne here telling me that I had an additional €700 to pay for port fees etc. When I challenged it I was told to check the small print. Sure enough it was made clear in one of the many docs I'd I'd recieved. I didn't recieve the paper work until everything was well underway. I felt ripped off and told them that if they have to direct their customers to the small print then their customer experiance is probably not that good. I'll not use them again.

    Used 1st Move to ship personal goods from UK to New Zealand.

    I had a generally poor experience. Specifics below:

    - the quote provided for a standard 2 bedroom flat was grossly underestimated and not transparent
    - communication was poor and not proactive
    - management of 3rd party suppliers once the shipping arrived in New Zealand was shocking. We had a variety of issues (caused by Covid-19) that occurred once the shipping had arrived into the port in NZ but not yet been delivered to the final location. 1st Move appeared to wash their hands of the situation. I can only assume this is because at that stage we had paid the full fee to them and therefore they had little incentive to go out of their way to help us

    Overall bad experience and I would highly discourage using this supplier for shipping personal goods.

    It took 3 months to get my goods from UK to Brisbane (Australia), we have paid nearly 3 times more than the initial quote, and when you make the payment the NEVER replay your emails.
    We had been through horrible times because this RUBBISH company.
    Don't repeat our mistake, search for a different one.

    After reading many review from many different companies I decided to go with first move for my move from Surrey to Miami. Honestly from the first step they were professional and made the move so much easier. All my items arrived undamaged and in great condition. Also they were the only company that told me there were additional port fees in the US and to have an extra $400 a side. This was for USA port taxes and could only be paid on arrival into the country. Every other company keep that quiet!

    This is the third time I've shipped items (originally US to UK and then UK to US). Both prior occasions I was quoted a set price for door-to-door service. This time, the price kept increasing and every agent who handled the shipment expected their own payment. The final straw was I had to go collect the delivery once it arrived locally as to have it delivered would have been yet another payment. In the end, I paid probably in the region of what I had previously paid for full apartment moves when this was one small pallet. Never again.

    We used these guys to move from Winchester UK to New York City. They got the job done when they said they would and for the price quoted. We ended up with 7 pallets (just over 5000 lbs) so rather a large move, still all done in about 3 weeks. Can’t fault them at all. The pallets were all packed sensibly and safely and literally nothing was broken in transit. I managed to drop and break more stuff while packing and unpacking than they did in moving it all transatlantic.

    I made a few mistakes in what I packed (some booze, not allowed I later found out) and they were wonderful about it. Quick to point out me error and helpful, and quick to respond when I made arrangements to have someone pick it up from the packing depot. When my employer who was paying for the move took a bit longer than anticipated to pay them, there was no complaining or heavy handed threats, they just put our stuff to one side for a few days and got it on the next boat as soon as the money went thru.

    I was surprised by needing to pay port fee’s on the receiving end, but this was my own fault for not reading the finer print in the beginning. It is in fact mentioned in the original quote, and for both those fee’s and the curb side delivery fee in New York, the original estimates were a bit higher than what we ended up paying. So a pleasant surprise there as well.

    All in all I would highly recommend them to anyone. I have done a few international moves like this and 1st international has been far and away the easiest and smoothest shipper I have used. And MUCH faster than anyone else was quoting. As I type this our stuff arrived 3 weeks ago, and the next fastest company (who btw wanted close to double the cost) would still not have been here for 2 more weeks.

    1st Move contracted with dgs logistics in the States to have my things delivered ‘curbside.’
    Dgs was a nightmare to deal with, charging a small fortune, delivering a week late and sending one man to unload so that I had to climb aboard to help him.
    The load slid off the tailgate taking the driver with it.
    Dgs had no interest in my complaint. They basically held my things for ransom until their conditions were met.
    1st Move should look into who they subcontract with. I wouldn’t use them again.

    So I moved to Canada, and needed to move all my stuff, including computers/screens/audio equipment and guitars. They weren't the cheapest or the fastest, but overall they were really great! They came to my flat in London, took all my stuff in 15 minutes, and 45 days later, all my stuff was at my door, perfectly packed. Extra care was taken for my guitars and I really appreciate. Not a single item was damaged! I would recommand them to anyone! Just make sure you ask them for kerbside delivery if you don't want to have surprise if you actually need kerbside delivery. For me, not a single penny had to be paid over what we agreed.

    Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Delivery over THREE MONTHs late. Only advised us days before due. No offer of compensation. Leaving customers without key items and no interest in their customers. Avoid at all cost. We wish we had!!!

    They changed the terms of our agreement immediately after paying. After multiple phone conversations and emails we agreed a specific shipping date. I agreed to have our furniture collected before the nine-day window they advertise on their website just to be certain and arranged my flights to coincide with being in the country prior to the expected arrival date. The company left my items sitting in their warehouse for eight days and then informed me that they had missed the window for getting my goods on our agreed shipping date. This has resulted in me being without our furniture in the UK for an additional week, me flying into the USA over a week early, and having to find temporary accommodation for an additional week as the items are not going to be delivered when it was agreed. We worked it out for a 1st August delivery, I paid for a 1st August delivery, and within 24 hours of paying their bill I was told that would not happen. As of right now I have an expected delivery date of 'sometime next week' (week of 5 August). No apologies and no explanation, difficult customer service (unresponsive to phone calls and emails), and no care for the fact that they have cost us an addition £1000 above and beyond their bill, not to mention the added stress.

    Their website is full of promises that they do not deliver. False advertising at its finest. Steer clear of 1st Move International. If you are not going to get your items for 6 weeks regardless you might as well go with one of the cheaper services that at least are upfront about the real amount of time it takes for your items to arrive and don't make false promises and provide poor customer service.

    Stay well clear!! Collected our things mid Dec and didn't arrive until mid March when only meant to take 39 days from London to Australia. Told us that the delay was because they had to open a box to removal an aerosol can yet said box arrived unopened with the can still inside. Our main storage unit was delivered upside down which meant the top was all damaged from being scrapped along the ground. Damaged lots of our and other items even though we paid the top insurance, they refused to cover the cost for the damaged and missing items. Horrible service overall. Would not recommend!

    Shipped a car from Cyprus to London, arrived damaged. No one accepts responsibility. There were 4 companies involved: 1st Move International, Dolphin Movers, Autoshippers and Cyprus Logistics. On a separate note, communication was terrible, none of them seem to know anything about the processes. Simply awful.

    DO NOT RECOMMEND. First the initial bill I received was almost twice the estimate. Second I was informed that 4 movers would arrive but only 2 did which was not enough as some of the furniture was heavy (the leather couch was damaged right at the start as a result). The worst part is when the household goods arrived almost 7 weeks later practically every piece of furniture was damaged/destroyed. It looks to be both a result of some damage that occurred in handling at the removers warehouse as well as some in transit. Both the level and amount of damage raises serious questions as whether it was caused by extreme carelessness verse intentional damage. The refrigerator alone looks like the Hulk threw it down a flight of stairs. When I contacted the removers they failed to even respond. In over 3 decades of military moves this is by far the worst I've had or even heard about. All this furniture was new and a wedding gift for my wife (I was notified of a new assignment just after it was delivered) and now it's destroyed. My experience was one of being charged a premium cost for sub par services. My opinion is to not use their services as the furniture I had basically got turned into firewood.

    I had a terrible experience with this company our things were over 4 weeks late and when our things arrived 2 of my designer handbags had gone missing from my things. We had paid 1st Move International to pack and move all our belongings. They were expensive and I never imagined 2 of my most valuable handbags wouldn't arrive with my things. They both had very high re-sale value. One was a Chanel handbag and the other one was a Louis Vuitton bag. If you value your personal things don't use this company. When I asked them to help find my things. they were unhelpful and rude and told me my bags never existed, even thou I had pictures of them in my wardrobe.

    We had a great experience with 1st Move International moving our belongings from London to Toronto. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was super courteous and friendly and any emails I sent were answered within a normal amount of time. The guys who took the boxes & belongings from our house were quick and efficient and we were kept informed of each step along the way. Also, our initial quote ended up being slightly less once our things were weighed and packed up which was a bonus! On the Canadian side, we had to go to Immigration to get our stuff released due to some paper work needing to be signed but other than that, it was delivered all in one piece on the pallet and nothing missing. I would definitely recommend 1st Move International!

    A top quality service and uncomplicated experience. I arranged to ship my son's musical equipment and personal chattels to the US from a Cardiff medium sized storage unit. Notwithstanding I had to change the date of the move a couple of times to ensure my son would be at home around the date of arrival, 1st Move took this in their stride. They were very helpful on the phone re: talking through the process and when they came to collect the items they packed it quickly and efficiently. At their depot they packed it all up even more thoroughly and I received pictures of the finished shrink wrapped pallets to accord with their final invoice which was very reasonable compared to other providers. The shipment arrived on time in the US and my son was amazed at how well everything had been packed and covered in vast quantities of bubble wrap. Every item was safely accounted for and he and I are exceptionally pleased we chose 1st Move International. Thank you to everyone involved, from the Transport Management team, through Administration to the collection and packaging teams.

    You will pay about double of what they quoted you for. The company gives you the illusion of it being a door to door service - their sales representative will NOT tell you that their service is only half of what's needed to get your shipment to your destination. They do pick up from your home in departure city, but the shipment will only get to some port in vicinity of your arriving city. On top of that, their shipping partner is just as terribly reviewed as they are. Please avoid this company at all cost. Their entire strategy is preying on consumers not reading the fine prints.

    DO NOT USE THIS ROBBING COMPANY.
    We specifically asked for them to check and re-pack anything that had not been packed by our family well enough to sustain an overseas move. They charged us for this service. When our belongings arrived, nothing at all had been re-packed and some items were broken due to not being packed properly for an international move - every single item had been packed by my father in law, and many boxes had been left with 1/3rd space in each box so items could bang about during shipping - he didn't know how to pack properly. When I sent pictures and queried this with Tessa - I got an email to say they would investigate and get back to me and guess what - I never heard another thing despite me emailing them multiple times. I think they just presume that because the clients are abroad - they can do whatever they want and they will not be held accountable.

    I am going to take them to the small claims court and if I win they will be paying my travel expenses - a flight to the UK from Canada!

    Don't use or trust these guys!

    Terrible service, rude staff (except for people doing the packing). Expect the total to come to double the amount of the quote and expect them till ignore emails once they have your money. Also, 2 month shipping means your items only spend 2 months at sea, this has nothing to do with the time it will actually take you to get your items so expect delays on top of the extra charges.

    Absolutely terrible - They took 4 months to deliver our cargo from UK to India and we ended up paying £400 extra even after availing "door to door" service.

    Their marketing team is great and they make you feel as if they will take good care of you during your move, which in the best of times is stressful.

    They only ship to the nearest port and then its up to you and the local agents to get the shipment home. They provide absolutely no help while you spend weeks dealing with local cargo handlers. Remember each day costs you more $$$ and you end up paying a lot more than what you pay for "door to door" service.

    I have moved between continents 3 times and this is absolutely the worst shipping company I have come across.

    Avoid at all costs!

    Tom is really helpful on the phone to try to gain you as a customer.
    The guys picking our stuff in London were also really efficient and nice.
    The issues start when you are not here (i.e. at the warehouse) and with their subcontractors:
    1) We've discovered while unpacking that 2 boxes were missing. We are not sure if they simply steal them or decided not to ship them because of the content. In any case we've never been made aware of any issues before shipment and even given an opportunity to pick up the boxes. Once contacted to ask more information, after unpacking we got absolutely no information, no answer: why would they you are abroad now and you've paid them! It's a horrendous customer management.
    2) A few of our important and valuable items (dining table, bed frame, bike) that were packed by the guys in the warehouse have been damaged, arrived dented, scratched because of poor protection and the way it has been piled up on the pallet.
    3) Finally the subcontractor they are using in Canada were rude and absolutely unhelpful.

    Moving is an extremely stressful event and I won't recommend to anyone going with this company as they won't assist you to make your experience any smoother.

    Definitely the worst experience I ever had buying services!
    Their arrogant salesman (Tom) pretended all the way that the quote would be to get my goods delivered in my apartment. Instead of that, I had to pay fees after every single step (crossing the borders, getting things delivered into my apartment).
    From a £1,300 quote, I ended up paying a bit more than £2,400. Also, I received everything a few weeks after the announced ETA.
    They're rude, unprofessional and liars!

    Wish I'd read some of the negative reviews on here before booking. I paid a premium given their 30day delivery promise. Turns out this is just a LIE! Items arrived after almost 90days, the same as any of the cheaper shipping companies. On top of that, as other people have found, their quote doesn't include all the extensive fees charged at ports...these increased the price by almost 50%. Finally even though Tom (sales guy) made it sound like they were a door-to-door service, it turns out they only deliver it to the nearest port! That ended up costing a further $250 to get it from there to my home. Overall a terrible shipping company, that uses fine print to massively increase costs, and get out of the headline 30day delivery that they advertise. Would avoid at all costs.

    People were nice but I was hit with a range of extra costs which nearly doubled the original quote. My suggestion would be to shop around and question the quote extensively before committing all your belongings.

    Our move was from Bristol to New Zealand taking a couple of cubic metres of personal effects, including some fragile items. We had self packed so hoped everything would arrive in one piece. 1st Move were great through the whole process. They communicated really well by both phone and email and their pricing was clear and understandable. From the time we dropped our boxes off at the Avonmead depot we felt confident they were in safe hands. They provided information so we could track the shipment on route and had appointed helpful New Zealand agents who guided us through the customs and biosecurity system here. Best of all when we collected the pallet and unpacked everything had arrived safe and undamaged. Great service and a great result.

    SCAM! They will give you an initial quote, and by the time they already have all your things to ship-- this company will give you a different price MUCH more than the original quote with the excuse that there are more handling fees involved. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST. YOU WILL END UP PAYING 50% more

    Extremely disappointed that they give you an initial quote, that seems reasonable, but later on once they had all my things, charged me 2x the quote. With no choice, because they have a cancellation fee, I just went with it. But later on, when my things arrived in the US, the company that received it, charged me more! Labelling everything as "handling fees". It makes me sad that I had to pay so much to simply go back home!

    To everybody planning on using an international removal service, you know that the search alone for a decent company is daunting. I spoke with lots of people when it came to moving from London to Denver and I was seriously stressed after doing so. When I got in contact with 1st Move my fears were put to bed and though I was still anxious that my things would get to the US in one piece and I wouldn't get 'ripped off' with a bad service, I chose to listen to my gut.

    The team at 1st Move were so kind and understanding and as a person who HATES filling out forms I thought the process was going to be a nightmare, but it was smooth and any silly question I had was answered :)

    Come removal day, the men who came to take my things were so nice and friendly and I felt comfortable with them taking my life's possessions from me. After the items were packed on a pallet I could see the progress and I was even informed when my shipment was going to be late. The last piece of worry from me was going to be how my pallet was treated by the US agent, would it be ripped to shreds? Would it stay in port for days? Would I get charged lots to release it?

    All I can say is that the US team were very communicative, I paid a small release fee and that was that. After being told it would be late it arrived a week before my original date :) Perfect timing!

    I will definitely use 1st Move again, we established trust, EVERYBODY I dealt with was fantastic and they proved to me that they can do as they say.

    AAA Customer Service, the whole process was a walk in the park with these guys.

    From the moment I made contact and up till now I've been up to date with my shipment, once my VIA was approved these guys kicked into action and had my Van ready within 24 hours for the port.

    Still, not often you get top quality service and competitive pricing under one roof, Autoshippers go above and beyond to make this whole experience as smooth as sailing.(pardon the pun)

    Extremely unhappy. Kept being given excuses for the shipping not to be shipped, never their fault of course and no compensation offered despite having paid premium for a 20 day estimate delivery for what took them 80 days to deliver.
    Necessary information such as regulations and allowed items was sparse at best. I followed their instructions but turns out they were wrong. They were very responsive and helpful until they collected all items and access to the money. The fine print is thick with them, and they are keen on removing entries from quotes, which misled me to accept absurd door-to-door delivery costs.
    Over a year after the move I still haven't received the final papers, no payment from the insurance for the poor handling and damaging of the items they packed (the ones I personally packed got no damage) despite being at higher premium than competition.

    I used 1st Move to transfer our belongings from the UK to the US where myself and family were relocating for a number of years. Right from day one the communication was excellent, answering any questions I had and raising things I hadn't thought of too, always keeping me informed of the status of my move. On the day of collection there had been communication between myself and the office and the two removals guys turned up prepared and informed. I was then notified at each stage of the shipping, (the Facebook pictures of your shipment are a nice touch), until delivery to the US. The only communication break down was when dealing with the third party responsible for delivery to the house, the general communication was good with them and the belongings still arrived in excellent condition however I had asked to be informed before delivery and found out 25mins before the driver arrived, as I was about to board a plane to NY. Fortunately there was someone at the house who could receive them, but that may not have been the case.

    very very vague description of the actual service you get. i'd go as far as to say it is misleading. my booking form states i have paid for shipping from my UK address to a warehouse in San Francisco. What it fails to mention anywhere is that the shipment stops at multiple locations on the way and each of these locations charges a holding and handling fee. Mine have totaled an extra $588 on top of the original $1000 i paid. I haven't even seen if the items have been handled well.

    Be warned!! check to see EXACTLY what you are paying for. Will NEVER use again and would never advise anyone to use

    The company will give you an attractive offer, but the very fine print in the offer states that the offer excludes destination charges.
    For me it meant that I had to pay double in the end to actually receive my shipment.
    You are not aware of the charges when they take your stuff, and it is held hostage through the whole process, so you have no choice but to pay and pay.
    Also note that they will not ship to your address, but to some warehouse nearby, and you will have to go there physically for the pickup (and pay some more).
    If you decide to get an offer make sure it is includes all door to door offer.
    Oh, and there is no live tracking as promised, and it took 2 months until I received the goods.

    They charged me as much as £840 to move my stuff from the UK, which is twice as much as many other companies. But I got blinded by the reviews and their agent on the phone told me that there'll be no hidden costs, and this will cover everything from A-Z. I thought why not, as long as it's stress-free and I know that this is all what I have to pay. However, it was a lie. They handed my stuff to a third party in the country of destination without my permission. That third party, which is another company had their own charges, terms & conditions. I contacted 1st MI, they said our job is just to take your stuff to the country of destination and that's all, good luck with the rest. The third party refused giving my stuff before paying as much as £500 in total. If I had known that the services provided are nothing but moving my stuff to the country of destination, I would've gone for a much cheaper company (I found one that charges £350) but I was afraid of hidden charges that sometimes could reach astronomical numbers. But this one was no different at all, but charging you twice as much as others for less than an ordinary service. I have contacted the university office to warn students from dealing with them after I told them what happened. I will never use them every again and will never recommend them to anyone.

    Never having shipped anything to another country, I had no idea where to start. 1st Move International took all the guess work out of it. Every step of the way, the team were there to answer all questions, no matter how ridiculous. All emails were responded to the same day, not bad when you consider I am in Canada and all my belongings were in Scotland. Even making the payment was easy. The wonders of the internet! Once the shipment was picked up from Scotland, I was kept informed of its progress the whole way. I loved being able to track the ship across the Atlantic. Many thanks to all at 1st Move International for all their hard work, and for not laughing too much at all my ridiculous "blonde" moments!

    We used 1st Move in order to move our belongings and car from Wiltshire to Cyprus. The staff in the Avonmouth offices were all very friendly, approachable but always professional. The Freephone number was always answered very promptly and emails responded to speedily - all instructions received were easy to follow...and when I drove our car to Portishead without the correct documentation (which had been provided by 1st Move) Andrew kindly faxed a copy to the port authorities. The move went like clockwork until our container ended up in Haifa instead of Limassol but 1st Move sorted this out for us. We'd recommend their services. Thanks again!!

    I am sure they are not the cheapest option, but we received a large collection of very valuable model trains packaged by 1st Move International, and it was some of the finest most thorough packaging we have ever seen!

    Also I felt their communication was first rate from start to finish. Honestly its the best international shipment we have EVER received, and we do this quite a lot. I do not understand why they have received some poor reviews, I would have 100% confidence in using them again anytime the need arises!

    Extremely poor service and customer relations. I have moved internationally several times, and this is - by far the worst experience I have ever had with a shipping company dressed up as a moving service. Rude, aggressive with a huge number of hidden costs. My contact details were recorded incorrectly and I had to chase throughout the entire process. A move is already stressful, and using 1st Move International is just not worth it. Beware! On top of all that my shipment arrival time is now anticipated to be arriving at my residence some 6 WEEKS after the quoted date of arrival - with no apology and no prior notification of the delay. Shocking service and a deep lack of care for their clients. I do not normally write reviews, but I have been compelled to out of disbelief on this occasion.

    Terrible experience. They are asking additional USD 588 on top of the GBP 621 I already paid. This was never communicated. Now, they are not replying for weeks and are saying the employee looking into your case is on sick leave for 4 days. I hope it is not a single user staffed company.

    They made errors in billing where insurance was omitted, then added later. They also tried to charge me for weekend collection after the collection happened on weekdays. Poor tracking at UK side and poor tracking at US side. They do not answer emails or phone calls. Customers beware!!!

The gentleman that came to pack us up was very efficient and pleasant. The kept in touch with us as our shipment moved from England to Texas. The pallets were wrapped really well and we received all of our items with no damage. Thank you!!

    They promise you a safe journey for your belongings. This is not the case people. My three piece leather suite was damaged beyond repair when shipping over. Company do not answer there calls for claims. DO NOT USE THEM. I am about to take them to court. Full of empty promises.Tried to claim damages. Do not answer calls

    We shipped items on September 26 from the UK with these people, and as of today, December 20th, they still have not arrived. We certainly did not anticipate that when shipping in September with a 4-week delivery estimate, that we would not have received by CHRISTMAS.

    We have sent more than 25 emails over the past 8 weeks as well as dozens of phone calls and consistently been ignored, provided completely incorrect information, or been given new quotes for basic services, with obviously no choice but to pay them or else we will not receive our belongings.

    The latest is that we paid a premium fee (nearly the same as the fee we paid for the items to be shipped more than 5,000 miles), for the items to be delivered to our apartment. We were not told at any time before pickup that the original quote would not include delivery. Anyway, we had no choice and paid this fee.

    After more than 2 weeks of chasing for a delivery date from the LA terminal to our house (another 10 emails, over 15 phone calls), we finally had a delivery date. You will not even believe that once the items arrived, we were told that we were expected to have a FORKLIFT at the ready at our apartment to offload a full palette of items onto a busy street in downtown Los Angeles, and then that they would provide no assistance for me to carry 36 boxes plus a couch into my actual building.

    It's clear that they are running a scam and want us to get a third party to touch the items so they don't have to pay for all the damages when our glassware, etc. is smashed to bits.

    Do not use this company, do not use this company, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you would like your expected delivery date to be delayed by more than 2 MONTHS, and would like your to spend your Christmas shouting at these people to please deliver your couch, dishes, and clothing in order for you to have a meal on Christmas day.

    Shipped my car from UK to US. Overall my experience was good and car arrived S&S and in a timely manner.

    The customs & handling charges were on the high side this end however, it is possible I was informed ahead of time and didn't retain all the info. Recommend you give them a go and would certainly consider using 1st Move Int. again should the need arise.
