Contacted Viamar for our move from Ontario to Scotland.
Was quoted for 200 cubic feet of household goods (on a 7’x4’x7’ pallet)
I marked the area in the garage and packed exactly in those measurements, because I didn’t want to have to pay more for going over our allotted amount.
I was told the crate would leave mid July, and they would pick up the beginning of July.
Pick up scheduled for July 4th.
The movers were quick and professional and had everything loaded quickly.
After that zero communication from viamar until August 10th saying that the ship had departed August 2 (so not mid July), with an extra charge for extra cubic footage. (which you can’t argue with when you weren’t the one packing it, and didn’t receive any photos showing the overage… fine)
It got held up in Rotterdam in customs, and then again in England. (not their fault at all ~ I understand that they have no control over customs and inspections)
Communication was horrible during the entire thing. We ended up reaching out to them for updates because they were not keeping us up to date while things were being delayed for weeks in customs.
Finally get a delivery date ~ October 2. (this was 3 months after the boxes left our house.)
Truck arrives and the boxes are tossed all over the back of the truck. They had used one rope to tie down the boxes, and the rope broke, so everything was all over the place.
Every single box was damaged, ripped or crushed. My husband’s toolbox was broken, as well as 7 picture frames, 2 sculptures, and 2 kitchen storage containers, a clock, and some plastic storage containers. (and one of the boxes had been eaten through by a mouse or rat, and they ate through my husband’s pants that were in the box…)
I thought, its ok ~ Afterall we paid for the $20,000 insurance coverage….
Nope ~ that only covers total loss of all of your belongings.
They also lost 1 of our boxes (presumably the one that “didn’t fit” on our pallet) ~ reached out multiple times via email ~ and I was told that they would look for the box at their Toronto warehouse. (Last communication from them was October 9, 2024, Review posted October 22, 2024.)

Asked for a quote to have one of my cars shipped from Germany to Canada in a container the guy told me it wasn't worth it and pretty much hung up the phone... little did he know the car is not all I want shipped... I have € 15,000 worth of windows that I also wanted shipped in the container.

I shipped my car from Montreal to Bremerhaven. The shipping wasn't super fast but predictable and Bruno was professional and all the time fast at answering all my questions. All in all very satisfied with Viamar services.

Viamar Scilla Transport made Importing/shipping Vehicle from Europe to Ontario all possible. It seemed overwhelming at first but Bruno Handled all the details and Logistics. This company destroys your car and does not respond to any form of reaching out. I have been ignored since it happened in 2019. This is how I received my car: think more than twice before doing business with this unprofessional organization that executes transport in a very careless manner.

Bruno and team at Viamar helped me ship my personal items (~60 cb ft) from Toronto (Mississauga warehouse) to London, UK (curbside). My overall experience was positive and items made it to London with no damages. There was a slight delay due to Covid (to be expected). Viamar was by far the best value for money I came across.

I had really good experience with this company, they are trust worthy . I bought a car from dealership in Montreal to be send to Saudi Arabia while I am in US ,, they arrange picking up from the dealer place with small extra fee , they work 24 hours except Christmas Day , the only thing that you need, is to be patient as they are little slow in responding to WhatsApp and email . I had a great experience using this company.I shipped 2 pallets/half a cargo container of personal effects from Toronto to Tokyo and everything went smooth as silk.John(I believe his name is) was helpful and so his brother as was the secretary too.

Prices were very good,thats why I chose them at first but after getting fast e-mail replies compared to other companies I decided these were the guys Id use.They even were willing to accomodate some custom requests I had.5 star experience all the way

Extremely unprofessional, disorganized & useless. Please save yourself the time, energy and hassle - avoid this company at all costs.

Bruno is rude and has absolutely no sense of customer service.

He tells me a driver will call me the day before pick up to schedule a time, etc. No driver called me. I had to chase Bruno and his driver down for a time/day. Literally, Bruno provided me with the drivers number to coordinate a time. What?! Isn’t that their job??
I end up calling the driver and he is not consistent with any of the times he gives me (Saturday, between 12-2pm). I call the driver AGAIN, asking when the car will be picked up.. He says in 30 minutes. 2:30pm rolls around, no one arrives.
Once AGAIN, calling the driver back as he says he’s dispatched another driver to come pick up the car and will be there in 20 minutes or so.

When the driver arrives late, he rings my doorbell with a massive sign that says, “PLEASE DO NOT RING DOORBELL! TWO BADIES SLEEPING... shhh” . This is super frustrating since, my infant of 3 months wakes up, crying.

Here’s the kicker though, after all of this mess, the driver asks me to fill out his paperwork. I just about lost my mind.
I said, “Absolutely not. Is this not your job and what you guys do?” I’m extremely confused at this point and irritated since I have a crying baby upstairs, praying to God she doesn’t wake up my other baby, AND I’m standing outside in the cold for this guy to get it together.

30 minutes late, the driver leaves, at 3:30pm.

I call Bruno immediately afterwards to let him know about this poor and inexcusable experience. He replies to me with, “Listen lady, you’re just a complainer.”

No sense in wasting my breath with a man who believes this is a sufficient way to run a business.

Again, for the hassle and time, go with another company. There are many transport companies (coming from a logistics background), who would be happy to serve their customers and not make worry or do any of the work.

If you want to move your furniture internationally, you've come to the wrong place : they don't know what they're doing.

I reached out to Viamar a few months ago for general questions and a quote, Bruno answered all of my questions with a lot of patience and care and provided me with a fair price.

I was extremely surprised to see how quickly my car had made it to Germany from when I had dropped it off at their warehouse, and they treated my car with the utmost care as it arrived in the same condition I provided it in.

This place is an absolute joke. John is one of the most shadiest person I have ever met in my life. Do not use this company for anything. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

I shipped 2 cars to Italy & Dominic set me up with a great customs agent in Calabria. These guys were such pros! I shipped a Corvette & Dodge Ram. Not even a scratch on them!

John, Bruno and Sara took care of our shipment to Sweden. We took the unorthodox route of handling customs and the physical move in Sweden ourselves, and John was able to make this happen.

I contacted John at Viamar last fall, and the nice thing was that he didn't hesitate to give me a ballpark figure even though we didn't have all of the information yet. Other companies sent impersonal quotes, but I felt like I could pick up the phone and call John to get some information right away.

In the end, all of our belongings arrived in tact, and even though the world was being turned upside down with the COVID virus, there was no delay.

We are grateful for the help and would recommend Viamar to anyone looking for a family run business with a personal touch to help you feel good about your international shipping needs.

I recently had occasion to engage the services of Viamar Scilla Transport International to move a classic Mercedes from Toronto to Marseille. They were recommended by the person from whom I bought the car and Bruno and his team did a great job. Shipping anything into Marseille is always a bit of a risk given wildcat strikes and other uncontrollable events. However the car arrived in perfect condition and I don't think it moved an inch in the container. The receival team unblocked it and drove it onto a flat-top trailer that softly guided it to ground level at which time I got in and drove it home. Easy peasy.... I would have no hesitation in recommending the services of Viamar Scilla Transport and will certainly use their services again to ship my next classic car.

I want to thank Sara, Silvana and Bruno for all their help with shipping my Aston Martin from Los Angeles to Milan. I had so many questions (probably too many!) but they patiently explained the whole process to me from beginning to end. They answered every email promptly and kept me updated throughout the whole process. Great service! Shipped a car for the first time from Canada to the Caribbean. They were very responsive and professional. They sent me 30+ photos of the vehicle prior to shipping showing how the vehicle was secured in the shipping container. Then sent me a link to track the shipment. I would use them again. for sure.

Had a great experience with Viamar shipping 21 CBM of household goods + a car in a 40ft container from Toronto to Belgium. As this was the first time I'm using this kind of service, I was clueless about the procedures but both Bruno and John helped me along the way, providing options to bring the overall price down. The final rate was very decent, no hidden fees or surprises. Only issue was the invoice that turned out to be to high, according to my own calculations, but that was later rectified.

I bought a car in Canada to be shipped to Italy and Viamar prices and services were fantastic. They provided me with a customs broker in Italy who assisted me with the whole customs process in Italy and they also recommend a company who helped me get the car registered. Most impressive was the way they keep me up to date with all situations, they even send to me loading photos of the car in container. Good company and professional company.

We used them to ship a vintage motorcycle from Canada to the UK, excellent service very professional. Motorcycle was securely crated and packaged, plus the shipping cost was very reasonable. I would defiantly use them again. Highly recommended.

Had horrible experience working with Bruno. We shipped 12 salvaged cars with this company in 3 separate containers and in every single container there were cars that had not been properly secured/locked so the cars moved on the way to Dubai and caused severe bents. We had signed a contract waiving any liability on Viamar's part but they had not even properly secured the cars and not only that, when we walked in to talk to Bruno, right away, from the first second, he told us this was our problem and he wasn't going to waste his time talking to us.

Hi argument was that the cars we brought to him were already damaged.

He never gave us an explanation as to why the cars inside the container had fallen on top of each other or they had moved and made contact with one another.

The answer is that his team had not properly secured the cars and as a result, thousands of dollars of damage had been caused and all he told us was that we signed a waiver (which we did) and that it's now our problem to deal with. He even went as far as calling me an idiot for being in this business. He later apologized in an email for calling me an idiot but I am writing this review and including photos to share my experience with him and his team.

My problem with Bruno and his team (the folks who work in the missisauaga warehouse) is their arrogance and their attitude. They think they are the only game in town. I wish I had known this before I shipped my cars with him. Now I shop my cars with a company who secures them with 2x4 wood and the cars don't move once inch inside the containers. We are still able to ship 4 cars in the same container. I am not writing the name of this company so you know I am not a competitor trying to promote another business while bashing Bruno and his team.

Bruno kept telling me and it was mad to ship four salvaged cars in the same container when there are dozen of other companies doing the exact same thing right now without making a fuss about it. My problem is that at the time I trusted his company's name and reputation and didnt look around very much.

If you're thinking of shipping multiple cars with him, please remember that there are a lot of other companies in the GTA that are doing the exact same work who will treat you with respect while providing you with quality work. You'll still have to sign a waiver but at least they won't leave you with thousands of dollars in damages, call you idiot for your choice of business.

Great experience with Via Mar. We shipped 3 pallets from Toronto to Amsterdam and received everything in great condition. The whole process was smooth, with clear timelines. Would definitely use Via Mar again for our next relocation.

Moving all your possessions from Hamilton, Ontario to Lucerne Switzerland is not a task without stress. But is certainly has been eased by the professional, swift and always true to word interactions had with John.
Originally I requested quotes from 3 different shipping companies, after thorough research online. John at Viamar was not only the first one to respond, but also the most clear and precise estimate I received. He urged me to read all that was and was not included in the quoted price.
That very first quote of his stood until the end. I did not have to pay a cent more, no surprises or hidden fees.
Payment was made easy. For me it was important to be able to do it all online and via e-mail reliably as it was across the Atlantic in the end.
From start to finish, it worked smoothly. The Sister Company in Bremerhafen, Germany, where the shipment arrived and subsequently had to go through Customs, was a joy to work with as well. Very professional and friendly service and no hidden fees. It really was all included in original price. Then it was transported on to Switzerland where it arrived curbside as promised. Customs had to be paid separately but that fact had been brought to my attention by John from the get go; even the amount was close to his estimation.,can highly recommend this company. From pickup in Hamilton, to delivery in Lucerne, there was no wrinkle in time.

I am leaving this review because the process was a great success and I was very satisfied with the service provided by Viamar.
The cars were picked up in Winnipeg, and we're treated by the trucker as if they were his own. When we opened to container in Barcelona we found the cars in the exact same shape (mint condition) as I left them in Winnipeg.
Bruno was very helpful all along the way, communicated promptly and was very flexible. And last but not least, all of this for a reasonable price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Today is approximately 2 months plus and my goods have arrived overseas . Finally used another shipper. Viamar somehow I did not use their services 'coz probably they did not qualify me as their customer .
Shipping across contients for a 1st timer (me) is stressful and understanding to comply with customs and international laws of import permits etc requires time and some accuracy.

Viamar may be great for their regular users or for shippers in business . We direct first customers definitely found the chase not meeting our require ments

I recently imported a 2002 Maserati Spyder from Italy and was very impressed with the service. It was a present for my dad so I was really anxious about the process involved but Viamar took care of everything. Their agent in Genoa contacted the seller and arranged pick up from Sanremo and loaded it into the container. The vehicle arrived in Toronto 3 weeks later, I was instructed on how to clear Canadian customs and once that was complete they delivered the vehicle to my dads house on a closed carrier. The price and service were outstanding. I have already recommended Viamar to family and friends. I'd give 6 stars if I could

Five star service. My shipment arrived in London, England without a scratch having travelled from my home in Toronto to the Viamar warehouse; then to Montreal by truck; to Southhampton by ship; then to the North of England where the agent has their warehouse and finally to London by truck. On time and in perfect condition. It was a small shipment containing delicate antiques, some pictures and crystal. It wasn't worth the trouble for a lot of shippers and those who did quote came in much higher than Viamar's. One of the Canadian moving website's says on their home page something like - "If it's too cheap to be true, then it probably isn't". Well, in fact it was cheap and it was true! Hurrah. Thank you Viamar.

It was my first time arranging for the shipping of an SUV to Europe for my parents, and I had no idea what I was doing. Bruno and the Viamar team were extremely helpful, considerate and abundantly patient throughout the entire process. Very disappointing. I shipped a car from Toronto to UK with Bruno.
Initially he advised that he would use a certain clearing agent in the UK that I subsequently engaged. He then changed his mind and used someone else and did not inform me. When I asked for his help to intro me to the new company he refused. As a result I missed my clearance deadline in the UK. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances.

The past 12 years we have been using Viamar. They services were very good and were helpful.

Recently sold a Vintage Jaguar to a buyer in Poland. Viamar came highly recommended from family members who have used them multiple times in the past. Bruno provided a very competitive quote, arranged for the car to be picked up from my location, and took care of all the paperwork to get it into Europe for the new owner. Smooth and efficient process for all parties involved, and the car arrived in Poland as scheduled with no damage. Very professional operation, will use again!

I recently moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for a long term work placement. I didn't have much to move except for a motorcycle which I have been customizing for years now. It was a wedding gift from my wifes late father so I didn't want to sell it. I had no idea how I would have this motorcycle shipped and the process involved with that. I found Viamar from searching on Google and am very happy with their service, they took care of the whole process. I was very concerned if my motorcycle would get damaged so they allowed to watch it be wrapped and secured to a skid. I am greatful to report that its arrived in perfect condition. We bought a 1965 mustang from a seller in Surrey, British Columbia in Canada. We were a bit concerned on how we would have the vehicle transported safely to Auckland, New Zealand which is where we live. Thank you for helping with my recent move of household goods from Brampton to Sydney Australia. Viamar moving specialist advised we wouldn't have enough goods to fill a container so they recommended putting my goods in custom built wood crates and shipped them in a shared container. The whole process was hassle free as they took care of all the paperwork in Canada and put us in touch with a great company in Australia who took care of the customs. Most of all I was impressed by moving team they sent, we had some paintings and mirrors that needed special attention but they did a fantastic job wrapping them in foam wrap. Will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

I hired Viamar to move a car and household items from Mississauga to Dubai. They packed all the goods, loaded the container and arranged door delivery in Dubai. Their representative in Dubai was very helpful especially assisting with the customs formalities.

I have to say from start to finish the process was seamless, transparent, affordable and smooth. I couldn't have imagined better service starting from Bruno, Sara and Domenic. I bought a car that had to be shipped overseas but I did not know how to go about it. I called some friends for help and was referred to some company. Meanwhile, I did my own search online and came across Viamar, I thought to visit them.
Compared to the other company I was referred to, Viamar made the whole process astonishingly easy. The information provided was great and their process very helpful, I literally just had to drop the car, sign some forms and off I went. They took care of having a container available, placing and securing the vehicle inside. No work was involved on my part whatsoever.
They communicated all needed information in a timely manner. Their fees were at par with competitors, despite the additional service they're providing.
The fact that they're open on Saturday was helpful as well, I work long hours during the week, and did not have to take a day off work to take care of this.
Another thing I was impressed by was their expertise, Bruno is very knowledgeable and passed along a lot of information. I came in anxious about the entire process, I left relieved that the vehicle was in good hands.
My family received the car about 45 days after shipment, without a scratch.

Viamar recently shipped two of my bmw x5 trucks to Aruba and everything went great. They helped from top to bottom with helping me prepare the documentation and a checklist for what I need to ship my trucks. I would like to thank viamar on transporting my car to the uk. Strongly recommend this company. The single (as opposed to multiple staff) person in charge, Bruno, did a great job, and my items arrived in Tokyo without any problems. Responses to all emails and necessary actions were very prompt (within few hours). Questions such as those regarding import/export paper works, etc were answered in an "easy to understand" logical manner with "concern for the customer" and "attention to details" (given the complicated nature of this matter, these things are important for first timers like me). Do your own research, but this appears to be an established international company.
