I highly recommend not working for them.
My dispatcher Angie was a sweet woman but other than that I would stay away.
I put in my two weeks notice so they decided to hold two of my checks until I returned the truck in and they wasn’t going to give me a ride back home so they thought they was going to leave me for dead. Lol. So they had to come get they truck.
And another thing. That guy DAVE is a snake. I’m a grown man and I’m not about to play with one.
Plus held two checks and had the nerve to send me a $72 check lol but hey it is what it is. The universe rewarded me with my own Authority and truck so I’m doing better for myself now

Started here about 1 year ago. After working this past year at Oberg Freight Company, I've finally decided to give them a thumbs up on here. I usually wait at least a year before rating a company. I love working for these guys, it has been the most driver friendly company I've worked for in my 27 year career. They aren't the highest paying or the lowest paying company I've worked for but I make more than enough to support myself and my husband and still have enough money left over to save and enjoy life. The amount you make here depends entirely on how you want to run. They have an open door policy in which you can walk right into the owners office and talk with him about anything, you don't have to request to see him. If you have problems with your dispatcher you can change to a new one. If you have an issue, they will do their best to resolve it as long as you let them know you have an issue. They are small enough to get to know and care for their drivers and treat them like family but large enough to offer the benefits of the big carriers. I don't want to be bold enough to say that they are the "best" because not every company is a good fit for every driver, but thus far Oberg has been a perfect fit for me. I plan on working here for many years to come. The only issues I've had here are truck issues. They bought about a whole bunch of brand new glider kits and they all seem to have minor issues that they came in with from the manufacturer. They also bought some brand new 2019 trucks (not gliders) that have also had minor issues straight from the manufacturer. I cannot see how Oberg is to blame for the faults that these brand new trucks are coming in with and they do their best to get them resolved. We have our share of cracker heads that drive here just like any other company and they tend to weed themselves out after a while, but most of the drivers here have worked here for years. One of the things I noticed when I started here, I would meet other drivers at our customers and ask "how long have you worked here?" If I hear a lot of drivers respond with months to 1 year, I am concerned that the company has high turnover, but here I was consistently getting responses like 5 years, 7 years, 10 years. That said a lot to me about what kind of company it was. You don't hear a lot about them on any of the trucking sites, good or bad so I thought I would share my opinion of them on here. Their motto is "User friendly". They really are the most driver friendly company I've ever worked for. (In my opinion).

Let me go after I lost my wife in a car accident. Tried telling me they were trying to help me. Truck maintenance is a joke.

A bunch of charges for items up front when you start that they don’t tell you about and only medical ins no dental or vision so hopefully you don’t care about your teeth or eyes and it’s still $135 A WEEK for family ins. They lie up front saying family and home time is important but don’t care if you have obligations to be home for. No fridges in trucks so be prepared to drop $100 for a decent 12 volt thermo cooler if you don’t have one.

Recruiter Bill Smith was not honest about expenses up front that drivers need for straps, leaf blower etc.... Total deductions from your paychecks will be at least $400. Trailers very old. Don't bother to come. Not even a bus ticket home.

Great company to work for. Good equipment friendly people. Always keep ya moving as long as you are willing to. Great part is doing 34hr restart once a week at you home or place of choice

Be warned.. If they tell you that you are going to be home every weekend, their idea of weekend is sleeping in your bed on Saturday night. You won't get home until Saturday and you will go out Sunday.

Biggest waste of time and money I ever made investing myself into a company that twists the truth.

I drive allot of highway miles, and today on my way home one of Oberg's drivers was texting and driving! If you don't educate your drivers better there's going to be an accident!
