1. Gandhi International Shipping company picked up my consignment in the USA in July 2021. Delivery of goods to India was promised in 10-12 weeks. It is November 30, 2021 and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED my goods. December will make FIVE MONTHS since my consignment was picked up! Emails asking for information/updates have been ignored.

2. Charges paid to Gandhi International Shipping company in the USA INCLUDED terminal handling at both the ports, customs clearance and delivery in India. HOWEVER, I was asked to pay over Rs. 22,000 in India for 'handling charges'. What choice do I have but to pay? This is a rip off!

3. The shipment reached Mumbai on November 3. It is now November 30, but it still hasn't been delivered to me in Pune, a short distance away.

- The company should have had the courtesy to give updates to the customer every few weeks and respond to questions asked via email.
- The company should not be demanding huge sums of money in India for services already paid for and included in the contract made in the US.
- The company needs to be more professional and transparent in their dealings with customers. I am very disappointed with Gandhi International Shipping company. They were wonderful at the front end until my consignment was picked up, but silent and almost non-existent after that!!!

UPDATE:
I finally received my consignment mid-Dec. My goods were damaged. Since I had paid for the Insurance Policy THEY offered me, I followed all procedures of sending them pictures and descriptions of the damage to my goods. I was shocked with the reply I received from them - I could claim damages ONLY IF THE FULL CONSIGNMENT IS LOST - NOT PARTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGE. That too, the cause of full loss of consignment needs to be PIRATES, SHIPWRECK, etc. In this day and age, pirates and shipwrecks? Absolute scam!!! I'm so disappointed.

Very bad experiance with Gandhi shipping. Not giving any star, need to give negative rating only. They promised to deliver within a time frame while booking and never told the other charges. They dont update customer ontime, also most of the time they will not attend the phone as well. My boxes came late and there was no proper update. Also some items were damaged which they were telling you are not opted for insurance and we are waiting for an update from vendor - now it is more than 7 months, still no updates. No more with this shipping company and not suggesting to anyone.

This is fraud company. Initially one lady named Shraddha Jadav promised door to door shipment within 2 Months from USA to INDIA and collected Money ~ 700 USD. Transferred 7 boxes on Aug 10 2021, which is not delivered till date. Today on Jan 8 2021 (After 5 Months) they are asking 77K INR as custom charges without any proof or document for this (Which had used household items only, valued not that much). Initially they asked original passport saying they will void custom charges mentioning as domestic transfer, "this was never communicated earlier", after seeing there unprofessional behavior I sent notarized copies of passport and blank paper which they said they will fill it for declaration, asked for filled copies and that never shared. 77K custom can happen only if they ship something from there end to avoid custom charges or to get paid for that by customers. I have lost Money and all my shipped items because of these people and affected my travel plan badly thinking I will receive this when I am in India. Writing this message to save others from this fraud.

I am rewriting this review after receiving the shipment on Dec 18th 2021.

I noticed one of my item (backpack) is missing from the shipment and immediately I contacted Gandhi International Shipping and informed them. Till Jan 12th 2022 even after several follow-up I have been given only assurance and no update on missing backpack from their support team and warehouse team.

I have learned the lesson and never ever going to ship the stuff from Gandhi International Shipping and I do not recommend Gandhi International Shipping.

I would have given minus rating. These people are a bunch of thieves out there. I shipped my 2 boxes from US in heavy duty double wall boxes. Firstly it arrived after more than 3 months. And when it arrived one of the boxes was totally damaged while the other was replaced by a single walled box. Many of the items were missing or damaged. Even after multiple complaints they did not compensate me and I was told that since I packed the box myself the things got lost or damaged. Also initially they claimed that the price will be around Rs 3000 for 2 boxes but on arrival in India they asked me to pay almost Rs 6000 to dispatch the boxes to my home.
I would advice not to use the service from this crooks. Most unprofessional and worst service provider ever.

They initially claim low prices for the shipment, however, once the shipment reaches Indian port they will charge more than double in the name CFS charge as Government fee which is a FRAUD. I have filed a legal case in India againts Gandhi International Shipping, attached is the case.

I shipped 4 suitcases for a friend to Kuwait in July 2020. The best value on shipping for this size and no hassle. I taped the suitcases closed and everything arrived intact and on schedule 6 weeks later. There are local fees to pay once the items come into the arrival country and they did make us aware of that. Being consistent with other reviewers, I bought insurance and never got information about it but I never needed it. They are not super communicative but the deal went through smoothly.

Shipped our stuff from Chicago to Bangalore. These guys have contracts with some worst and cheap third party transportation companies in India. My goods were damaged, some items were lost. When we called the Chicago office to claim insurance, there was no response. Stay away from these cheaters!!!

Very poor service, do not believe these people no matter what they say whatever they commit.
They said price is fixed - no matter what they commit altimetry you will have to pay 20-30K-INR extra, I asked multiple times that later they will not charge any hidden amount but eventually I had to pay 22K-INR which was not mentioned in invoice and they didn't provide any invoice or bill for this amount indicates they demand money to loot people might not pay to authorities.
They do not need passport - Even if they say they do not need passport, don't believe, ultimately they will force you to send passport ... else keep on sending emails to pay huge amount. I even asked, tell me one date I will be there with passport but they never agreed.. indicates misuse of passport.
Delivery - They will put stuff outside house and you will have to keep those to your house. may small things are missing.

I had sent 5 boxes of luggage in Jan-2020 from USA and it took whole 1 YEAR to reach at destination in India. So you can understand how CHEAT and inefficient these guys are. Luggage was picked up after paying $250 (half of agreed upon price) in advance and it was sent by ship by End of January from New York Port. And immediately I was asked to pay balance amount of $250. And then the wait begins. As these guys got the FULL money, they start ignoring your emails, calls. I was suppose to receive it in 3 months by April. When I checked, I was told they have HUGE backlog and I will have to wait for several weeks. When I checked back in May,June, there was no response. Finally on their website via chat option, I got hold of their India contact number. They do not have any office in Mumbai but have one in Gujarat. The guy there told me they are not able to locate my luggage and they might have Lost it. I insisted and later he told me he found my luggage and asked me to send original passport. I refused saying that was not initial agreement. He said luggage is under "Unclaimed baggage" and its their mistake while loading from New York port. I did not send passport however I sent notarized copy and had to sign bunch of forms and send them to their Mumbai CHA (Custom House Agent) location. Upon multiple follow-ups with CHA, he told me he is not able to locate my luggage and was adamant and refused to take my calls and asked to contact Gandhi's office. When I called Gandhi's office in Gujarat, that guy was blaming USA guys saying he has no idea where my luggage is. That point of time, I escalated in Customs department in Mumbai and then at end of October they were able to locate my luggage. It was sent on someone else name and marked as Household. They worked on amendment process and only after I submitted my original passport to them in Nov, they cleared my boxes from custom and put custom TR stamp "Transfer of residence" in my passport. This was total deviation and was never part of original process. And once I collected my passport, I was asked to pay Rs, 55000 as demurrage charges, CFS charges etc again this was never part of agreement and was total deviation. After I made full additional payment, I got my boxes and that too in DAMAGED condition in Jan-2021. AFTER ONE YEAR!!!
I would say, these guys dont deserve to be in this business and whatever good reviews you see, are all fake and staged.

We shipped 30 boxes of 50lbs from USA to India. First they charges over weight for 8 boxes $25 each even though we consulted them before packing that a few boxes are 1 or half lbs over 50 while others are 5 to 6 lbs less than 50lbs.
Then after the shipment is put on cargo (sea/ship) there is no response/ communication from gandhi shipment agent. They don’t answer our calls or reply to emails. 90 days was the over all time given but its already 70 days and We finding hard to know the tracker details of the shipment.
When the boxes arrived they are in pathetic condition. Clearly you can see them crushed from all sides. Boxes we not lifted by machines/ fork lifts but manually by hand. And the delivery box was rolling even the fragile/crockery boxes in front of me.
Another disappointment was , every time we got an update on email we were surprised with some extra charges- over weight charges for no reason, customs for used clothes also, delivery boys tips, door delivery charges.

Fraud and Cheat Company. I shipped boxes from US to India . After boxes reached India, they charged huge money and they didn't provide any justification/receipt for the amount paid. Upon asking justification for the charges, they started raising the voice unprofessionally. Don't use their service. They cheat and loot you.

I wanted to an air shipment and called the toll free number. He was completely misleading in the full conversation. He sends mail for 50 pound and then talks about $240 for 40 # and then again says minimum 50#. When I asked explanation he becomes abusive and cut the phone. I think this is a cheating company.

My friend sent parcels from US to India and it's been 8 Months but he didn't received his parcels. They are not responsive and cooperative. No proper answer. Pathetic service, I myself tried to reach them but call goes to voice mailbox and despite dropping multiple messages didn't get call back.

I was amazed at the courteous and prompt service provided by this company with regard to books that were sent from California towards setting up a library at a retreat center and ashram in Kerala, India. Inspite of so many hitches and delays due to the Covid situation here and in India plus the torrential rains in Mumbai, Gandhi International successfully got the large shipment delivered in excellent condition. Most of all whenever I had any concerns both Muneer and Vineet gave me the facts as well as reassured me .

We shipped 5 boxes from USA in the month of Jan 2020. After boxes arrived in India they charged us 9500 total saying It is cfs charges and there was no custom duties (custom clearance is there as per the communication from shipping company) some sort of storage fee for which proper receipts will be provided . Even though while booking we were informed that apart from customs there will not be any extra charges . And when asked for receipt they shared one regular receipt on some printed paper, which has gandhi shipping name and no GST/TIN number mentioned. No follow up calls on shipment nothing . Definitely not worth using this service . Have tried universal relocations in the past and I am very happy to say that their service is better than these people .

I have experienced extremely poor service from Gandhi shipping. They are all careless people, don’t bother to give any updates about the shipping timelines and don’t bother to apologize.

I had shipped 5 boxes, 1 via air and 4 boxes though sea from New York to India. The FedEx box was supposed to be delivered to me directly however one day I got a call from FedEx that the box is shipped as cargo and I should move it to personal goods. I requested the same and then I was told that FedEx doesn’t clear the customs for personal goods so I had to go to Mumbai spend entire day running multiple places to clear the box to finally have it delivered.

Other 4 boxes are still sitting in Mumbai, they are waiting to be cleared by customs and arrived in Mumbai in late March. I understand that there was lockdown but it’s over now and courier services have started. I have followed up with the local shipper company but they don’t have any update and don’t provide any timelines. Gandhi shipping doesn’t respond to emails and don’t do anything to get the goods to me. I’m extremely unhappy about Gandhi shippings services and will never ever use it again. I will also inform my friends to not to use their service as they don’t really know what “service” means.

Please avoid this service as they are good intially but never shared the right details with us( customs, receiver details condition ).many important details were missed from their end and I have been struggling to get my parcel. For them we are just a customer and once they receive the money you are on your own. You can find many good courier service across. Learnt a lesson in a hard way.

I think they post their own review so that real reviews are buried. Don't trust them. They talk nice and collect your money and everything will be good till you ship. After that the real nightmare starts. No status update no response to phone or emails. It has been 3 months since I shipped and it has not reached the destination yet. Original promise was 8 to 12 weeks. Be very careful in doing business with them.

The initial phase was impressive when I contacted them. They immediately provided quotation and followed up for payment and shipment. The real problem started when I contacted them after 2 months for the status of the shipment. I called them when they didn't responded to my emails. I have been told that the shipment reached destination and will be out for next week. When the consignment didn't reached after 3 week, I contacted them and they again made the same statement that it will be out by next week. Two weeks later I contacted with Owner of company hearing false promises from customer agents and that didn't helped too. I've been directed to Agent who deliver the consignment at destination. It was not my job to follow up with them, however I did follow up and didn't get any positive response. Finally, It took around 6 months to reach the consignment at destination after continuous followup with Gandhi Shipping and their vendor at destination location. I used other company for my other shipment and it was very smooth. They provide regular update and keep there promise.

We recently retired and moved to Puttaparthi, AP. India on a TR and had extra household items shipped there. Vineet Ranjan of Gandhi shipping gave a very good quote for the shipping cost that included door to door pick up and delivery and the estimated time at 8 weeks (+ or -) He also clearly explained that in the unlikely event of any customs duties that we would be responsible. We went ahead with Gandhi shipping and shortly thereafter Mumbai's clearing agent contracted by Gandhi Shipping, Mr. Gajendra Shetty Owner of Akanksha Shipping notified us that he would be personally handling our shipment and would take care of all clearance issues. 9 weeks from the original shipping date Gajendra Shetty sent me a nominal fee due to Customs as processing fee with no other duties or charges. 3 days later the shipment arrived at our residence all perfectly fine and intact. Our whole experience was absolutely perfect and stress free.

Their pre-sales service is awesome. You feel like your goods is in good hands. However, once you pay and the boxes are picked up, the service is awful. Not ready to take any responsibility or answer the questions satisfactorily. Avoid!

We have shipped boxes to India early this year. They lost one of our packages, when they were transporting from CA-IL to be shipped to India from Illinois. The third party has refunded money as one of the package was lost. However, MUSHIR has robbed the money and never returned it back to us.

It’s been 4 months and we haven’t got our shipment yet. Their contacts in Mumbai keep saying they haven’t opened the container yet and they are not willing to even confirm our shipment number.

They are just delaying our shipment first by giving incorrect contact information of someone in chennai (where our shipment never arrived). Then they gave us the contact for this Mumbai shipping company who is not giving us any details about our shipment. This is very unprofessional and bad service on. It’s 4 months now and we haven’t received our stuff yet. I hope our shipment arrives soon. Else I will be for forced to complain against them legally.

Stay away from this people, very bad company to do business with, they will rip you out on any little thing they possible can, we did move couple shipment for them, it's been 2 years, and they don't pay for the service we did, they did pay some, after our attorney send them a letter, however not all, that we agreed on, not responding to emails, block our phone calls, vary bad people, i wish someone would tell me this before.

When I called about pricing, they were really affordable and polite. This was his first overseas move and I had a lot of concerns and questions. Everyone I talked to was very informative on the phone and the all around customer service was exceptional.

They gave me several different options for shipping everything in his house. We went through a comprehensive pre-move survey, so I was able to give special instructions on how I wanted his fragile antique furniture and expensive art to be boxed and shipped.

They were also able to store some of his non essential furniture and appliances at their warehouse until he gets settled.

The movers were friendly, organized and careful. I really appreciated their attention to detail. Everything arrived as promised and nothing was damaged. He was very grateful and pleased with the whole moving experience.

Guys, Please don't ever go for Gandhi Shipping. Their service is horrible and sucks.. I would rate them minus 10. Most of my product came damaged and their wasn't a single response from them. They dont pick calls and no response to your email after multiple follow-ups.
